New Sculpture Install

Well it has been a couple of weeks and I have been secretly working on a few pieces. Guam was a real motivator, but unfortunately without that tropical environment, I was little sluggish getting started. However, this new piece is rather large for my work. I like to go big! It is roughly 6 feet tall and r feet wide. I placed it this morning along the Greenbelt, off of Old Denton and Frankford.

This thing took the entire bed and hung out of the back about 2 feet.

Here...

Last day

It is rather bitter sweet, my last day here in paradise.  I started packing after picking up something for a dear friend who is about to retire.  I did one last drive around the island.  It is very hard to say goodbye this time.  I smile missing my family, and I look forward to bringing...

Last Weekend on the Island

Well it started off by taking the last guy to the airport early on Saturday morning.  I took advantage of this time to update the blog and get ready for my visit to the University of Guam.  I was surprised to find out they really don’t have a press, they mostly use barrens for image...

Guam Extended Part 2

Well we hit another day and I was feeling a little adventurous. Got the other unit that was left on the island and we decided to try and find the old Tank Farm.  This is where several tanks were towed to a very sandy area for weapons training.  We never found the small Japanese 95’s,...

Guam Extended

Well after two more weeks on the island I have escorted some new guys on where to go and interesting things to see.  Never been much of a shopping and bar man.  There is so much history here.  The island cries out for us to slow down and take in her beauty, as well as...

Guam Day 2 Continued

Well there was just too much going on to leave it to one post so I am splitting this off into a second.  After my excursion around the island I hooked back up with some of my unit and we took one of the new guys on a jungle tour.  This is commonly known as...

Guam Day 2

Woke up feeling ready to attack the world, in a positive way.  After a really great work out session I had time to shower and watch the sun rise.  It was still raining but as always this beautiful island just gently welcomed me to the new day.  The warm weather is cooled by the ocean...

Guam Day 1

Flight was awesome, love United Airlines.  No photos coming over, had trouble getting the phone to work for me.  I could really use some tech advice on that.  A friend of mine come over here and used his phone and went home to a $500 bill.

Well I got in around 11:00pm on St Patrick’s...

Leaving for Guam

All my bags are packed I’m ready to go. I’m standing here outside your door.  You know the rest of the song.  Ready for Guam.  I think this is my 20th trip there and this time I am determined to get some artwork done.  I even created itineraries for the tank farm and some...

Print day!

Alrighty then.  I have been having a bit of good luck lately.  Maybe I am just rolling with it better, but I am ready to push forward.  Cracking out the small press and trying out some old, and hopefully new solar plates.  This can be a little pricey, but much easier than actual acid etching....
